Jane D Burnside Architects is unique in that it offers a bespoke contemporary house design service where all the houses are designed personally by architect Jane Burnside. Each new contemporary rural house is carefully sculpted into the landscape to retain mature trees and natural water features. Carefully positioned areas of glazing maximise the views filling the interiors with natural light and visually extending the rooms out on to the terraces and gardens.
Each new home is designed to maximise solar gain and minimise heat loss through the use of high performance thermal glazing and high levels of high density insulation. Solar panels, ground source heat pumps and rainwater collection systems can all be incorporated to make a sustainable living environment.
Jane Burnside’s award-winning work in Ireland has featured on many television programmes including as the Co Antrim winner of the BBC House of The Year, hosted by Laurence Llewelyn Bowen. She frequently is asked to give public lectures on design and rural planning at Universities, such as the Glasgow School of Art, and also at Government and local forums. Her work has been published widely in the national press: The Sunday Times, Homes and Gardens, Ideal Home, UK Homebuilding and Renovating, Ireland Homes Interiors and Living etc.
